- Everest College, Sudbury Campus, 66 Elm Street, Greater Sudbury, ON. The Massage Therapy program has been designed to prepare students to take the Registration Examinations of the Massage Therapy Association. The program’s primary goal is to provide learning opportunities that promote basic knowledge, skills, ethics and behaviours that will enable the graduate to successfully practice massage therapy in a variety of health care settings.
- Collège Boreal, 21 Boulevard Lasalle, Sudbury ON: Massage Therapy 3-Year Diploma Program enables the student to acquire the learning, skills, and attitudes required to perform effective, safe massage therapy in keeping with the code of ethics and practical standards established by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. The profession demands good interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills while keeping legal and ethical considerations in mind. The student gains the knowledge, competence, and judgement required to determine the systematic needs of each client. The first year covers basic components, with peer-to-peer massages in the laboratory. In the following two years, emphasis is placed on analyzing the needs of individuals of all ages with a range of complex health problems, and on delivering therapeutic care in a clinically supervised environment on the college premises. Upon receipt of the diploma, candidates who meet the specific criteria of the College of Massage Therapists may take the exam to become members of the profession in Ontario.
